Mariah Carey Announces New Single “You’re Mine” & Album Release Date
For the past three years or so, it seems that Mariah Carey has been teasing fans with the release of her overdue and long-delayed The Art of Letting Go.
Originally set to be released in December 2012 and then in the summer of last year, the singer’s fourteenth studio album will be out May 6th.
Now officially ready to release the album, Auntie Mimi announced a new single along with the new official release date in a almost two minute retrospective promo video, which chronicles her career since her debut.
Entitled “You’re Mine (Eternal),” the single’s cover art features iconic sweethearts candy. The song will premiere this Wednesday, February 12th, and will serve as the album’s third single.
The Miguel-assisted “#Beautiful” serves as the album’s official first single. It was released in May 2013 and peaked at #15 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song also reached #3 on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and #15 on US Mainstream Top 40 charts.
While much isn’t known about the album, she worked with a range of artists, producers, and writers including DJ Clue?, Randy Jackson, Q-Tip, R. Kelly, Stevie J, James Fauntleroy, Jermaine Dupri, Bryan-Michael Cox, Hit-Boy, The-Dream, Da Brat, and Rodney Jerkins — just to name a few.
