You know you’re Beyoncé when you can unexpectedly drop an album with no promotion on a random evening and send fans into a frenzy; that is exactly what the pop star did, releasing her self-titled fifth studio album late Thursday night exclusively on iTunes. Like a BAWSE!

The 14-track set features guest appearances by hubby Jay-Z (“Drunk In Love”), rapper Drake (“Mine”), singer Frank Ocean (“I Miss You”) and daughter Blue Ivy (“XO”).

The album includes a video for each song. “I see music,” Beyoncé said. “It’s more than just what I hear. When I’m connected to something, I immediately see a visual or a series of images that are tied to a feeling or an emotion, a memory from my childhood, thoughts about life, my dreams or my fantasies. And they’re all connected to the music.”

A video for “Grown Woman,” a promo track, appears as a bonus video — but didn’t make the album’s track list, nor did the Sia-penned “Standing on the Sun” from Bey’s H&M ad.

“Now people only listen to a few seconds of song on the iPods and they don’t really invest in the whole experience. It’s all about the single, and the hype. It’s so much that gets between the music and the art and the fans. I felt like, I don’t want anybody to get the message, when my record is coming out. I just want this to come out when it’s ready and from me to my fans.”

The album will be available exclusively on iTunes for a full week before it hits stores Saturday, December 21st.

Though still being confirmed, writers and producers for the album include Sia (“Pretty Hurts”), Chairlift‘s Caroline Polacheck (“No Angel”), Miguel (“Rocket”), Drake and Noah “40” Shebib (“Mine”), Hit-Boy (“Bey Reel”) and Frank Ocean (“Superpower”), Ryan Tedder and The-Dream (“XO”), Justin Timberlake, Pharrell Williams and Timbaland (“Blow”), and a mysterious co-writer listed as “Boots.”
