Talib Kweli, Living Colour to Play Brooklyn’s 2015 International African Arts Festival | Jul. 2-5

The 44th Annual International African Arts Festival returns to Brooklyn’s Commodore Barry Park for four days of dance, music, fashion, and an African Marketplace.

Taking place over July 4th Weekend, the family-friendly event lineup includes Brooklyn rapper Talib Kweli , Grammy-winning rock band Living Colour , jazz and R&B musician Norman Connors , Cameroonian singer-songwriter Kaïssa , Salsa vocalist Cita Rodriguez (daughter of Pete ‘El Conde’ Rodriguez ), reggae band New Kingston , and soul singer Ayanna Gregory .

There will also be dance performances, a symposium, children’s program and play area, youth talent Show, arts and craft zone, chess tournament, natural hair show, barber competition, fashion show, parade and more.

IAAF is dedicated to the preservation of art forms, traditions, and cultures of Africa and its diaspora. This year’s theme is “ Meadi ,” which translates to “We Share.” Check out event details below.
