Listen: Mariah Carey’s Sugary Sweet “You’re Mine (Eternal)” + Remix ft Trey Songz

Mariah Carey - Elvis Duran on Z100

Mariah Carey stops by Elvis Duran’s Z100 show to promote her new single “You’re Mine (Eternal)”

It’s officially here! Not only has Mariah Carey released her latest single “You’re Mine (Eternal),” but the official remix featuring Trey Songz as well.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, which is this Friday by the way, the song exceeds my expectations by not only being a love anthem with great lyrics, but having a more mid-tempo beat. Listen below.

Both written and produced by Mariah alongside Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, the song serves as the official third single from her long overdue fourteenth studio album The Art of Letting Go, which after many setbacks is now set to be officially released on May 6, 2014.

The way Mariah sings throughout the verses reminds me of Chrisette Michele‘s styling on Rick Ross‘ 2010 Top 40 hit single “Aston Martin Music,” and that’s not a bad thing at all.

While I’m not a big fan of Trey Songz, having him on the remix of the record was just what was needed. The eletro beat and his semi-autotuned vocals blending with Mariah’s iconic calm yet powerful coos are perfect. Listen below.
