Robin Thicke has finally managed to score his first #1 album on the Billboard 200 Albums chart with Blurred Lines , which was released on July 30, 2013 and has sold a total of 177,000 copies in its first week.
His sixth studio album, its success is greatly due to the title track and lead single, which has held the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 list for eight weeks.
This also marks the singer’s best sales week ever, passing his previous largest frame, when 2008′s Something Else debuted at #3 with sales of 137,000.
He also follows Black Sabbath, Queens of the Stone Age, Daft Punk, Gary Allan, and Chris Tomlin as the sixth act to hit #1 more than a decade after their debut.

Coming in at #2 this week is Five Finger Death Punch ‘s The Wrong Side of Heaven with 112,000; while Jay-Z ‘s Magna Carta… Holy Grail dropped down to #3 with 62,000 copies sold this week.
Rapper Tech N9ne debuted within the Top 5 at #4 with Something Else selling 58,000 copies and the Backstreet Boys follow at #5 with In a World Like This earning 48,000 copies.
The Teen Beach Movie Soundtrack slides back three positions to #6 with 47,000 giving it a total of 129,000 in its three weeks of release.
Pop trio of X Factor fame Emblem3 enters the chart at #7 with their debut studio album Nothing to Lose , which has sold 46,000 copies.
Last week’s #1, Selena Gomez ‘s Stars Dance , has fallen to #8 this week with 31,000 copies sold, while The Kidz Bop 24 slips from #4 to #9 with 28,000 this week.
Closing out the Top 10 this week on the 200 Albums Chart is Florida Georgia Line ‘s Here’s to the Good Times with 28,000 copies. Thoughts?
