English electro-soul crooner James Blake recently stopped by Later… with Jools Holland to perform “Retrograde,” the haunting lead single from his phenomenal sophomore studio album Overgrown , which released on April 5th via Polydor Records.
The song was written and produced James under supervision of Kanye West and Justin Vernon , who both served as production consultants and album mentors.
The critically-acclaimed Overgrown reached #32 on the US Billboard 200 chart and #1 on the US Dance/Electronic Albums chart.
Peaking at #92 on the UK Singles chart since its February 2013 digital debut, “Retrograde” is well overdue to be followed up by a second single. “Digital Lion” perhaps?
