A few weeks ago, it was announced that Nicki Minaj would be re-releasing her second studio album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded (if you ask me it already sounded like a re-release in my opinion), which was originally released on April 3, 2012, in November of this year.
Entitled Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded – The Re-Up and set to be released on November 19, 2012, Ms. Minaj has unveiled the official cover art for the album, which will feature songs from the original album, as well as 5 or 6 new tracks, including its lead single “The Boys” featuring Cassie (I play it at least 10 times a day.)
While I do like this cover much more than the original, I can’t help but to wonder why she didn’t decide to release an EP instead of a revamped album? As I mentioned earlier Roman Reloaded already seemed like a re-release of Pink Friday , and the constant use of the words make it seems as if shes’ really desperate for album sales.
As of August 19, 2012, the album has sold 627,000 copies in the US, and was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, for shipments of one million copies on June 22, 2012. Take a listen to the critically acclaimed “ The Boys” single below:
