Listen: Jennifer Lopez & Pitbull’s High-Energy “Live It Up” Premieres

About two weeks ago, it was announced that Jennifer Lopez would be teaming up with good friend Pitbull for a new single called “ Live It Up .”

It will serve as the official lead single from her currently untitled upcoming eighth studio album, set to be released later on this year.

Produced by Red-One and Cory Rooney , and written by Red-One, Alex Papaconstantinou, Björn Djupström, Viktor Svensson, Pitbull, Achraf Janussi , and Bilal “The Chef” Hajji , the energetic dance-pop song incorporates elements of electro-beat, electro-pop and hip-hop.

And just like JLo’s previous lead singles with Mr. Worldwide, this too is sure to be a smash!

This is the third time that the two artists have collaborated with each other, the first being the hit single “On the Floor” in 2011, which reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 , but #1 in over 10 countries including Japan, Russia, the U.K., and Spain.

“On the Floor” was the singer’s lead single from her seventh studio album Love ?, which was released May 3, 2011, and sold a total of 334,000 copies in the United States alone.

The duo then teamed up last year on the song “Dance Again,” which peaked at #17 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

It has been rumored that the song will be performed live during the two-part finale of “American Idol” next week (May 15-16), which would mark her first return to the show after residing on the judges panel for two seasons.
