Janet Jackson Puts Tour Production on Hold to Be With Father

Janet Jackson has shut down production on her upcoming The Unbreakable World Tour to be with her father, who suffered a stroke on his 87th birthday, Saturday, July 25.

The singer will remain by Joe Jackson ‘s side until he is stable.

“Wishing my Father, @Joe5Jackson a Happy Birthday. I want to tell the world, I love and honor you,” she tweeted on Sunday. “The image of us, is my tribute to you. xo. JANET,” she added with a link to her brand new No Sleeep video, which interweaves old photos of them together.

On Monday, he posted a statement from his hospital room on his website:

“To my family, friends, acquaintances and fans all over the world. I want to thank you all for your prayers, unwavering support and kind well wishes during these trying times,” he wrote. “Through God’s intervention the wonderful Doctors, Nurses and caretakers at the Albert Einstein Sao Paulo hospital have taken great care of me. God willing, I should be able to make a quick recovery and travel back home soon. Thank you all once again for your prayers and support.”

Janet’s Unbreakable World Tour kicks off on August 31, 2015 in Vancouver, BC, and will stop in Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, Atlanta, San Diego, and San Francisco before ending in Honolulu, HI on November, 15, 2015. Additional world-wide dates will be announced later.

The tour will be accompanied by a luxury jewelry line venture, the Janet Jackson Unbreakable Diamonds Collection , a collab between herself and Paul Raps New York .
