Watch: Janet Jackson Shares Creative Process in “No Sleeep” Lyric Video

In a unique new lyric video, Janet Jackson gives us a look at the behind-the-scenes work put into her latest single, “ No Sleeep .”

The clip shows the pop icon in the studio with her long-time collaborators Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis , along with recording levels and lyric notes.

Janet’s first new song in seven years, the acclaimed slow jam is the lead single for her forthcoming eleventh studio album, Unbreakable .

Available now for pre-order , the LP will be released in the fall of 2015 under Janet’s own record label, Rhythm Nation Records, distributed by BMG Rights Management.

Released on June 22, 2015 in the U.S., “No Sleeep” sold 38,000 copies through digital download in its first week.

It debuted at #67 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking Janet’s 40th entry on the chart; #18 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, becoming her 48th entry; #27 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, her 36th entry; and #15 on Adult R&B Songs, her highest entry on the chart.

Janet will embark on the North American leg of her Unbreakable World Tour on August 31, 2015 in Vancouver, BC.
