Watch: FKA twigs Frees Herself in “Pendulum” Video

Brilliant UK artist FKA twigs presents us with a metaphor of love and heartbreak in her dazzling visual for “ Pendulum .”

In the self-directed clip she is immensely tangled up in hair and trapped in a floating state, as in many ways love entangles us physically, mentally and emotionally.

Paired with vivid lyrics and an invigorating falsetto vocal performance, the video and musical arrangement are a perfect marriage.

Midway through, she stands in a pool of water while battling her long tresses from a contraption affixed to her stomach (soul), a symbol of “trying to be yours when you’re looking for much more.”

Then for a mere sixty seconds her bubbling conscience speaks with the repetitive lyric, “How does it feel to have me thinking about you?”

Toward the video’s end FKA twigs finally achieves freedom from her predicament, able to dance without restriction.

The singer/dancer is nominated for a Grammy for Best Recording Package for her debut studio album LP1 , which released to critical acclaim in 2014.
