As we anticipate The Foreign Exchange ‘s forthcoming fifth studio album Love In Flying Colors , the hip-hop/soul duo ( Nicolay and Phonte ) takes us on a retrospective journey through their music — which just gets better with time.
Two Kenneth Price -directed album trailers titled simply Her and Him , show the evolution of a young couple from before they meet to after they’ve become happy parents to a baby girl. As they evolve, so do their listening devices.
Both promos open with FE’s signature title theme (present on both “Daykeeper” from 2008′s Leave It All Behind and “The Last Fall” from 2010′s Authenticity ).
For Her the intro is followed by “End Theme” from 2004′s Connected , then “If She Breaks Your Heart” from Leave It All Behind , and finishes with “So What If It Is” from 2013′s The Reworks .
While for Him includes “Nic’s Groove” from Connected , “All Or Nothing” from Leave It All Behind , “Don’t Wait” from Authenticity ; and it all comes full circle with a new joint titled, “Right After Midnight.”
Enjoy both below and expect Love In Flying Colors , which is available for pre-order , to release September 24, 2013.
