With a steady and prominent presence on the Billboard charts for 2013, Bruno Mars is Billboard’s Artist of the Year .

His #2 debuting Unorthodox Jukebox kept hits in the top 20 every week since its December 7, 2012 release through Billboard’s September 14, 2013 issue.

Reaching #1 in its 12th week, Unorthodox Jukebox has sold a total of 1.8 million copies and spawned three top 10 singles on the Billboard Hot 100: “Locked Out of Heaven” (six weeks at #1), “When I Was Your Man ” (#1 for a week) and “Treasure” (#5).

The pop star’s dominance on social, ringtone and Billboard Boxscore data was also factored into the equation.

His Moonshine Jungle world tour finished at #23 on Billboard’s Top 25 Tours list with 667,000 fans in attendance and a gross of $46.4 million.
