Ludacris to Host Billboard Music Awards, Shakira to Perform

Rapper/actor Ludacris will now be adding a new title to his growing resume: awards show host.

Yes people, Luda, who has earned eight Hot 100 top 10 singles, the third-most of any hip-hop musician, will be the host of this year’s Billboard Music Awards .

It was also announced that Shakira has joined the official lineup of performers who are set to hit the stage at the event.

She joins previously announced artists Imagine Dragons, Jason Derulo, John Legend, Lorde , and Miley Cyrus — just to name a few.

Singer-dancer-actress Jennifer Lopez will also be hitting the stage to perform before she accepts the Icon award .

Produced by Dick Clark Productions , the 2014 BBMAs will be broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena on ABC from 8 p.m. EST/7 p.m. CST.
