Watch: The Awesome ‘Suicide Squad’ Sizzle Reel We Weren’t Supposed to See

Warner Bros. intended for its preview of Suicide Squad (2016) to be shown exclusively at Comic Con this past weekend.

However, crowd recorded footage leaked online, forcing the studio to release the high-definition clip above on Monday.

WB is pretty pissed off with the security breach, but the 3-minute trailer garnered 5.6 million views within just a few hours.

As the first real look at the David Ayer -directed film outside of still shots, the live-action visual shows the DC Comics supervillains in all their creepy, dysfunctional glory. And it does not disappoint.

Still filming, Suicide Squad stars Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jared Leto as the Joker, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, Viola Davis as Dr. Amanda Waller, Jai Courtney (Insurgent) as Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, Adam Beach as Slipknot, Karen Fukuhara as Katana, Jay Hernandez (Gang Related) as El Diablo, Scott Eastwood as Steve Trevor, and Common as Tattooed Man.

Also written by director David Ayer, the story follows a group imprisoned anti-heroes who perform high-risk missions for the U.S. Government, under the directorship of Dr. Waller, in exchange for commuted sentences.

Suicide Squad is being produced by Richard Suckle, Charles Roven , and Colin Wilson for DC Entertainment and Atlas Entertainment. It is set to hit theaters on August 5, 2016 via Warner.
