During last week’s British GQ Men of the Year Awards , Pharrell Williams unsurprisingly earned the title of Solo Artist of the Year.
The honor may have something to do with his great success over the past year with songs such as “Get Lucky,” “Blurred Lines” and “Happy,” the latter of which was nominated for an Oscar.
The multi-talented 40-year-old musician also covers the October 2014 issue of British GQ , where he wears tribal paint on his ageless face throughout his Hunter & Gatti -shot spread.
Stylist Tanja Martin adorns Pharrell in pieces by Lanvin, Burberry Prorsum, Maison Martin Margiela, Giorgio Armani , Chanel and more.
“Shot in London, all the inspiration concept is related to the Masai tribe paintings. We brought a real Masai tribe just to make the ambient music around the shoot and inspire Pharrell,” says Martin Cespedes of Hunter & Gatti .
GQ’s “Men of the Year” issue is on sale in print with six limited-edition covers, and as a digital edition that you can download for your iPhone and iPad , Kindle Fire or Android device.
