Watch: The Worst Heroes Ever Come Together in First Official ‘Suicide Squad’ Trailer

DC Comics’ band of dysfunctional supervillians-turned-heroes all get their chance to shine in the official first trailer for Suicide Squad (2016), starring Will Smith , Jared Leto , Margot Robbie , Joel Kinnaman , Viola Davis , and Cara Delevingne — to name more than a few.

Set to hit theaters worldwide in August 2016 via Warner Bros., the David Ayer -scripted and directed feature follows a group imprisoned anti-heroes who perform high-risk missions for the U.S. Government, under the directorship of Dr. Waller, in exchange for commuted sentences.

Will Smith ( Concussion ) stars as Deadshot with Margot Robbie ( Z for Zachariah ) as Harley Quinn, Jared Leto ( Dallas Buyers Club ) as the Joker, Joel Kinnaman ( Run All Night ) as Rick Flagg, Viola Davis ( How to Get Away with Murder ) as Dr. Amanda Waller, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevingne ( Paper Towns ) as Enchantress, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje ( Thor: The Dark World ) as Killer Croc, Adam Beach as Slipknot, Karen Fukuhara as Katana, Jay Hernandez as El Diablo, Scott Eastwood ( The Longest Ride ) as Steve Trevor, and Common ( Run All Night ) as Tattooed Man.

Suicide Squad is being produced by Richard Suckle, Charles Roven , and Colin Wilson for DC Entertainment and Atlas Entertainment.
