Watch: Trailer for Heartwarming Sundance Winner ‘Me and Earl and the Dying Girl’

Fox Searchlight has released the first trailer for Me and Earl and the Dying Girl (2015), the funny and moving winner of the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival.

The feature centers on Greg ( Thomas Mann ), an awkward high school senior who avoids deeper relationships with others so much that he refers to his best friend Earl ( RJ Cyler ) — with whom he makes low-budget films — as his “co-worker.”

However, things changes when Greg’s mom ( Connie Britton ) insists he spend time with Rachel ( Olivia Cooke ), a girl in his class who has just been diagnosed with leukemia.

Directed by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon , the film is based on a 2013 novel of the same name by Jesse Andrews, who also adapted the novel.

Also starring Nick Offerman ( Parks and Recreation ) and Molly Shannon , it was produced by Jeremy Dawson and Dan Fogelman for Indian Paintbrush.
