Brandy’s new sitcom announced at BET Upfronts 2015

At BET’s upfront presentation on Thursday, the network revealed an original scripted romantic comedy series for 2015 titled Zoe Moon , starring Brandy .

The Moesha and The Game actress will play Zoe, a single mom embarking on a new life and career as a fledgling cosmetics mogul who is “juggling it all.”

The network has also announced a reality series Chasing Destiny , where former Destiny Child ‘s member Kelly Rowland will search for “the next big female superstar group to make their mark in a dog-eat-dog music industry.”

Other new series include Punk’d , a reboot of the MTV hidden camera series; About The Business , a docu-series centered on a group of friends in Hollywood who are pursuing careers in the entertainment industry; Criminals At Work , which explores crime and violence in the workplace; The Label , a docu-series, executive produced by Ludacris , about the rise and fall of some classic record companies; and DeSean Jackson: Home Team , which focuses on the NFL star’s life at home.

There will also be new shows for Centric, BET’s network centered on African-American women: According To Alex , a reality show featuring the friends and family surrounding Whoopi Goldberg ‘s daughter Alex Martin Dean , who serves as an executive producer; #MyCurrentSituation , a docu-series on everyday people dealing with issues from running for office to working as a stripper; Curve Appeal , executive-produced by Queen Latifah , featuring stylist Timothy Snell , who helps plus-size women look good; and From the Bottom Up , a docu-series about women trying to make comebacks.

BET is also working on news specials on Hurricane Katrina, Muhammad Ali and O.J. Simpson .

Additionally, BET has entered a broadcast partnership with Roc Nation Sports to air live boxing events.

Brandy will soon begin her 8-week Broadway debut in Tony Award-winning musical Chicago .
