Thandie Newton Joins Anthony Hopkins in HBO’s ‘Westwood’ Pilot
Rogue star Thandie Newton has been added to the cast of HBO’s Westwood, a one-hour pilot adaptation of Michael Crichton’s 1973 sci-fi western thriller film of the same name.
Newton will play Maeve Millay (originally Miss Carrie), a beautiful, razor-sharp madame with a knack for survival.
Thandie joins a stellar cast that includes Anthony Hopkins (Thor: The Dark World), Evan Rachel Wood (The Ides of March), James Marsden (X-Men: Days of Future Past), Jeffrey Wright (Boardwalk Empire) and Ed Harris (Pain & Gain).
Produced by Bad Robot and Warner Brothers Television, it was co-written by Jonathan Nolan (Person of Interest) and Lisa Joy (Pushing Daisies / Burn Notice), with Nolan set to direct.
Westwood is set at a futuristic, adult-themed amusement park, “described as a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the future of sin.”
Rogue, which is on the Audience Network, was recently picked up for a third season.
