Yes!!! It has finally happened!!! After wowing us her with fashion style over the past six months, Lupita Nyong’o caught the eye of Anna Wintour and now serves as the cover girl for Vogue Magazine‘s July 2014 issue.
Looking every single bit of gorgeous, she dons a printed Prada dress, which is accompanied with a subtle smokey eye and accented with a berry lip.

Inside the issue, the Oscar winner speaks on her role in 12 Years a Slave, her big night at the 2014 Academy Awards, her upcoming role in Star Wars Episode VII and much more.
Below, take a look at a few excerpts and her amazingly beautiful photo spread, where she models clothing from the Vera Wang Collection, Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci, Alexander Wang and more.
On her breakout role in 12 Years a Slave:
“I was really nervous about seeing myself in 12 Years a Slave because it had been such a profound experience in all ways. I remember it being one of the most joyful times in my life — and also one of the most sorrowful. I didn’t want my experience to be a vain one. But I will say that when I watched it, my heartstrings were pulled so tight for [the main character] Solomon that I couldn’t go into the ego trip. I cried — I mean, I was inconsolable. I wept for an hour after the movie.”
On her time at the 2014 Oscars ceremony:
“I was just repeating my name in my head, so I didn’t know whether I had said my name or they had said my name! And then my little brother screamed, and time was suspended and it was just noise in my head . . . people are still filling me in on what happened after. My mother says I cried during the speech; I don’t believe her.”
On her upcoming role in the new Star Wards film:
“I seem to connect to R2-D2 and C-3PO. They just resonated with me. Being able to convey emotions with just a few digital sounds — it speaks of good storytelling.”
