Keke Palmer Covers Jet Magazine’s First Digital Issue
After a 63-year run, the trailblazing African-American lifestyle magazine released its final print issue earlier this month and has now transitioned to a weekly digital magazine app.
“Jet magazine was always on the table in my family’s home,” Keke said. “And it’s great to be their first cover as they enter into the digital age.”
For the cover, the 20-year-old beauty wears a white Mel Mesh Cutout Long Sleeve Dress from Boohoo Boutique photographed by Dimitry Loiseau.
Inside, Keke talks about growing up on camera, her talk show idols and dealing with social media drama.
“Sometimes people feel the need to put me on a pedestal, but I don’t belong there,” she said. “I’m just a person who believes in what I can do and I want people to know that they can believe in themselves. I want young people to win.”
The interactive app includes 3D images, video interviews, enhanced digital maps, audio content and archived photography.
The first issue also features Stacey Dash, Anthony Anderson, Trey Songz and Taraji P. Henson.
As the youngest talk show host in history at age 20, Keke will discuss topics that are geared toward teens and 20-somethings.
Produced in Los Angeles, the hour-long Just Keke airs weekdays at 5 pm ET/4 pm CT.
