Kingdom,” the first single from Common‘s forthcoming 10th studio album, Nobody’s Smiling, is finally available for download on iTunes.

Set to drop on July 22nd, the LP will release via No I.D.‘s Artium Records/Def Jam Recordings, with which Common recently signed a new deal.

Executive produced by No I.D., Nobody’s Smiling is Common’s first album since 2011’s The Dreamer/The Believer, which debuted at #18 on the US Billboard 200 chart.

The album is heavily inspired by the violence rippling through the rapper/actor’s hometown, Chicago.

“We came up with this concept ‘Nobody’s Smiling.’ It was really a thought that came about because of all the violence in Chicago,” he said. “It happens in Chicago, but it’s happening around the world in many ways.” He continued, “We was talking about the conditions of what’s happening, when I say ‘nobody’s smiling.’ But it’s really a call to action.”

The Vince Staples-assisted single premiered online on May 30th.
