Actor, spoken-word poet, writer, musician, and activist Saul Williams is set to head the cast of Holler If Ya Hear Me , a new Broadway musical inspired by the lyrics of late rapper Tupac Shakur , who was killed in a drive-by shooting in 1996.

Best known for the 1998 indie film Slam and his 2007 collaboration with Trent Reznor , The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of Niggy Tardust , Saul will be joined by Tony Award winner Tonya Pinkins ( Jelly’s Last Jam ), Tony nominee John Earl Jelks ( Radio Golf ), Christopher Jackson ( In the Heights ), Saycon Sengbloh ( Motown The Musical / Fela! ), and Dyllon Burnside and Joshua Boone , who are making their Broadway debuts.

‘Holler If You Hear Me’ Subway Posters

Described as “a non-biographical story about friendship, family, revenge, change and hope,” Holler If Ya Hear Me was written by Todd Kreidler and is directed by Kenny Leon , with choreography by Wayne Cilento .
