Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson‘s nightclub/crime drama Power, starring Omari Hardwick (Being Mary Jane), is set to premiere on STARZ sometime this summer.

The 8-episode, hour-long TV series follows James “Ghost” St. Patrick, played by Omari, a wealthy New York City nightclub owner, who caters to the city’s elite.

He wants to build an empire, turn the club into a Fortune 500 business, but there’s just one problem: he is living a double life.

When he is not in the club, he is the kingpin of the most lucrative drug network in New York for a very high-level clientele.

His marriage, family and business all become unknowingly threatened as he is tempted to leave his criminal life behind and become the rags-to-riches businessman he wants to be most of all.

Omari is joined by Naturi Naughton (Notorious) as Tasha St. Patrick, wife, confidant and willing accomplice to James; Joseph Sikora (Shutter Island) as Tommy Egan, childhood best friend and business partner to “Ghost” and Lela Loren (The Hangover Part III) plays Angela Valdes an old flame of James’ who unexpectedly re-enters his life.

The series is created by Courtney Kemp Agboh (The Good Wife), who will serve as and show-runner and executive producer, along with Mark Canton (300), Randall Emmett (End of Watch), David Knoller (Kid’s Town), and 50 Cent, who will also act in the series in a recurring role.

Filmed in Dumbo, Brooklyn, around Jay Street, the series is produced in association with CBS Television Studios.

The cast also includes Andy Bean (Neptunus Rex), Sinqua Walls (Shark Night 3D), Adam Huss (El Mascarado Massacre), Greg Serano (Terminator Salvation), Lucy Walters (Shame), Kathrine Narducci (A Bronx Tale), Luis Antonio Ramos (The Ruins), La La Anthony (Baggage Claim), Elizabeth Röhm (The Client List), J.R. Ramirez (Tinslestars) and Debbi Morgan (All My Children).
