This is shaping up to be a great week for singer-songwriter-producer and part-time rapper Pharrell Williams.
Not only does her serve as the coverboy for the April 2014 issue of GQ Magazine, and has the #1 song in the country, but the Oscar nominee will join the ranks of Raf Simons, Yohji Yamamoto, and Rick Owens as the latest celebrity to ink a long-term partnership with Adidas, with the first products being released this summer.
This will serve as the first time that the company have partnered with a designer who owns their own textile company, with Pharrell’s Bionic Yarn, a company which turns plastic debris from the oceans into yarn and fabric, being used with the new line of products.
Along with having his own clothing label, Billionaire Boys Club, Skateboard P has done a string over collaborations over the years, including sunglasses with Moncler, a shirt line with Uniqlo, and working alongside Louis Vuitton.
He also has a new unisex fragrance in the works with Comme des Garçons called Girl. Take a look at what Pharrell had to say about working with the company as well as past companies below:
“[It’s] an amazing opportunity to work with creative people who understand where I’m coming from and respect my taste while having access to great technology and an amazing brand history. They all fall under different categories or businesses of mine so they are all different and don’t really interfere with each other.”
