Once again, Tyler Perry ‘s OWN drama The Haves and the Have Nots is consistently soaring in ratings . A month into its sophomore season, the series garnered 3.35 million viewers on Tuesday night, up from a previously recorded 2.84 million viewers.

Created, executive produced, written and directed by Perry, the soap opera remains the top-performing scripted program in OWN’s history, pulling a record 2.6 rating with its target audience, women 25-54.

It also outperformed every other cable series Tuesday night, including FOX’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine , and ABC’s Trophy Wife and Killer Women .

Starring a multiracial cast that includes Tika Sumpter, Crystal Fox , and Renee Lawless , the series follows three families as they intersect with one another in Savannah, Georgia: the rich and powerful Cryer and Harrington families and the poor and destitute Young family.

Among all OWN programming since its January 2011 debut, only a March 2012 Oprah’s Next Chapter interview with Bobbi Kristina has drawn more viewers (3.5 million) than Tuesday’s episode of The Haves and the Have Nots .

Though he’s killing it in the drama department, Perry’s OWN comedy Love Thy Neighbor is not seeing the same success.

Debuting at high of 1.65 million viewers, the show’s popularity has now dropped to just 892,000 viewers.

OWN has acquired Perry’s TBS sitcom For Better or Worse and recently announced a series order for another scripted comedy based on his forthcoming feature film Single Moms’ Club , set to join the schedule in Fall 2014.
