‘Trials of Muhammad Ali’ Documentary to Air on Independent Lens on Apr. 14Bill Siegel‘s Trials of Muhammad Ali documentary is set to air on PBS’ Independent Lens on April 14th, almost a year after premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Listed as one of the LA Times’ 10 Best Documentaries of 2013, The Trials of Muhammad Ali hit theaters last summer after being picked up by Kino Lorber for North American distribution.
Executive produced by Leon Gast for Kartemquin Films, the film centers on Muhammad Ali‘s biggest battle: his refusal to serve in the Vietnam War and the legal challenges that caused, his relationship to the Nation of Islam, and his decision to change his name from Cassius Clay to Muhammad Ali.
