‘American Idol’ Alums Adam Lambert & Chris Daughtry to Appear as Mentors
For those of you who are still watching the forever declining American Idol, I have some great news for you.
Alums Adam Lambert and Chris Daughtry have been tapped to appear on the show during its annual “Boot Camp” phase, which will officially kick off on February 18, 2014 for a special three-day run.
Randy Jackson, who served as a judge for the show’s 12 seasons, will also make his return to the series as a mentor for the live shows, which should start sometime in March.
The “Boot Camp” will be a two-day workshop designed to allow America “to get to know the contestants before they vote for the first time,” a source told The Hollywood Reporter last month.
Since returning on on January 15, 2014, the show has managed to lose some of its loyal viewers during the often hilarious audition phase, due to not showing many bad auditions.
It premiered with 15.2 million viewers, a 22% drop from last season’s opener in the key demo of a 6.0 rating among adults 18-49 and 17.9 million viewers.
