This week on the Arsenio Hall Show actor Michael K. Williams recalled his emotional breakdown while filming 12 Years A Slave with director Steve McQueen.

Arsenio is moved tears as Michael reveals the intense moment that brought him to his knees and helped him understand what our enslaved ancestors went through.

The 47-year-old Brooklyn native will be having a busy 2014 with the fifth and final season of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire and roles in RoboCop, The Purge 2, Kill the Messenger, and Inherent Vice.

He’ll also play Wu-Tang‘s Ol’ Dirty Bastard for a forthcoming biopic Dirty White Boy, which is still in pre-production.
