Cole has also launched his own label, Dreamville Records, which will distribute via Interscope Records.

“This shit started back in ’07 summertime. Muhammad crib,” said Cole. “Dreamville partnered with Interscope Records (RIP Pac!). Congrats to the Dreamville staff, the movement. This is only the beginning. Enjoy the tape!”

The new mixtape is J. Cole’s sixth over the past seven years. It follows acclaimed EPs The Come Up (2007), The Warm Up (2009), Friday Night Lights (2010), Truly Yours and Truly Yours 2 (2013).

The emcee’s last studio album, Born Sinner debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 chart in June 2013, and reached #1 after two weeks. As of September 19, 2013 the album has gone certified gold in the U.S., selling 599,000 copies.
