Gucci to Launch Special Edition Grammy Watch

In honor of the Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr‘s Beatles reunion at the Grammy Awards, Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry and the Recording Academy will launch the latest special edition Grammy watch at a private event featuring R&B/soul artist Janelle Monáe.

The event will take place  at the Grammy Museum the night before the big show, Saturday January 25th. The Electric Lady follows John Legend and Jennifer Hudson, who kicked off watch launches in the past.

The special edition interlocking watch is the first of its Grammy watches to feature a dial made from grammium, a unique metal alloy used to sculpt the iconic trophies shaped like gramophones.

It features a folden yellow sunray dial contrasted with a slick black polished and brushed PVD case and is embellished with the Grammy Awards logo.

The Recording Academy, organizers of the Grammy Awards, became partners with Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry in 2010.

Since their partnership, the Italian fashion house has supported the Academy’s philanthropic, preservation and education efforts, including helping fund the digital restoration and preservation of more than 30 recordings by Thomas “Fats” Waller plus original compositions from the Muzak archives.

The timepiece will be available at and Gucci boutiques in February, and will sale for the price of $1, 295 in 37mm and $1,495 in 42mm.
