‘Dear White People’ Wins Breakthrough Talent at Sundance
Justin Simien‘s conversation-sparking racial satire Dear White People left the 2014 Sundance Film Festival with the “Special Jury Prize for Breakthrough Talent” this weekend.
“A satire about being a black face in a white place,” the film follows four black students at an Ivy League college and the events that unfold after a white fraternity throws an offensive African-American themed party.
Justin’s directorial debut, the comedy stars Tessa Thompson (Everyday Black Man / For Colored Girls) and Tyler James Williams (Everybody Hates Chris).
Now that Dear White People film has gone from an Indiegogo campaign to winning a Sundance award, eager fans are ready to hear about a release date!
