Listen: Ab-Soul Takes Aim at Military & Consumerism w/ “Christopher DRONEr”

Ab-Soul Christopher DRONEr

“Bunch of fuckin’ drones / Bunch of drones, can’t think for your own”

On a raging new “Christopher DRONEr,” Ab-Soul evokes the spirit of Christopher Dorner , the LAPD/Reserve officer who allegedly shot several other officers and their families before allegedly killing himself in February.

The intentional “drone” reference immediately makes us think of the U.S. government’s drone strikes and surveillance, but the Black Hippy emcee is also taking on anyone who has become a mind-controlled, programmed robot.

Backed by looping Catholic church bells and military cadence, he finishes the eerie track by mocking Kanye West ‘s “New Slaves:” “Went and bought some Alexander Wang after I heard ‘New Slaves’ / Y’all niggas can’t fuck with Soul…”

The Willie B -produced song will likely appear on the Black Lip Pastor’s forthcoming project, which is not yet titled.
