The lovely Zoe Saldana , who also covers InStyle UK , dons a head full of fluffy curls and her svelte nude body for Allure Magazine ‘s June 2013 issue.

Inside, she reveals being open to raising children with another woman, not budging on her controversial role as Nina Simone , and more.

However, the Star Trek star’s beautiful Tom Munro -lensed photo shoot and thoughts on race, sexuality, etc. are completely eclipsed by the cover which reads: “Zoe Saldana: 115 Pounds of Grit and Heartache.”

The line seems to hint that while Zoe is slight in physical appearance, she’s still quite tough. But it’s leaving a sour taste with a lot of readers, who are not only personally bothered but concerned for what this message sends to others.

“115 pounds is something us mortal women should aspire to right? Though it’s no secret that America and the fashion/beauty industry has an unhealthy obsession with thinness, this cover takes the cake of tasteless magazine headlines.”

“Bizarre and unnecessary either way.”

TheFrisky.com ‘s Jessica Wakeman:

“…really, who cares? It’s not necessary to know how much an actress weighs, especially since the numbers on a scale reveal very little of the person’s actual health. (Take, for instance, Anne Hathaway’s dramatic weight loss for “Les Miserables,” which by all accounts, made her truly miserable and unhealthy.) There’s so much pressure for women, other actresses and models in particular, to look attain a mainstream definition of attractiveness, and how much other women with other bodies weigh is not helpful.”

In defense, some ask, “So should she be ashamed of her weight? Is it a secret? Why can’t they mention her weight if she’s OK with it? Whose weight can be mentioned? Adele’s? Chis Christie’s? Gabourey Sidibe’s? Alexa Chung’s? No one’s? Why?” and “Is this thin-shaming?”
