Listen: Snoop Lion & Miley Cyrus Reminisce in “Ashtrays and Heartbreaks”

For the past few months, Miley Cyrus has been tapping into her urban side. On top of some viral twerking, she’s friends with Wiz Khalifa, has been in the studio with Pharrell Williams and Tyler, the Creator, and now she’s featured on a new single from Snoop Dogg Lion.

Snoop Lion Ashtrays and Heartbreaks ft Miley Cyrus

Set to appear on the rapper’s upcoming album Reincarnated, the two new friends come together for a reggae-influenced song entitled “Ashtrays and Heartbreaks.”

Produced by Major Lazer, Ariel Rechtshaid, and co-produced by Dre Skull, the song features Miley channeling her inner island girl and her past experience with the bong while singing the lines “Now my buzz is gone / I need to re-up on reality.”

Her interest in the art of smoking and all things herbal all kicked off in 2011 where she celebrated her 19th birthday with a Bob Marley themed birthday cake.

Reincarnated will serve as Snoop Dogg Lion’s twelfth studio album and signifies his departure from hip-hop and his debut in the reggae genre.

“Ashtrays and Heartbreaks” is preceded by previously released singles No Guns Allowed,” La La La,” Here Comes the King,” and Lighters Up,” featuring reggae stars Mavado and Popcaan.

Along with Miley, the album will feature guest appearances from Drake, Chris Brown, Akon, Rita Ora and more. It is set to be released on April 23, 2013 underBerhane Sound SystemMad Decent, Vice Records and RCA Records.

Miley is also currently working on her next studio album. Although there are still title details surrounding the album, as mentioned earlier, she has been in the studio with Pharrell Williams and Tyler, the Creator, along with Dr. Luke.
