Kerry, Kelly, Halle & Gabrielle Make People’s 2013 Most Beautiful List
While everyone is debating over Gwyneth Paltrow being named the World’s Most Beautiful Woman, I’d rather focus on Kerry Washington, Kelly Rowland, Halle Berry, and Gabrielle Union who all made People Magazine‘s 2013 Most Beautiful List — unsurprisingly of course.
Ranked by People at #2, Kerry has dominated television for a second season of ABC’s Scandal as Olivia Pope, a role which creator Shonda Rhimes initially thought she was “too pretty” take on.
The 36-year-old star is the first African-American woman to lead on a primetime show in almost four decades.
“I don’t have to be perfect. All I have to do is show up and enjoy the messy, imperfect journey of my life.”
Sitting at #7, Kelly, who will soon bless us with her new album Talk a Good Game, has become a role model for dark skinned women but initially struggled to believe in her own beauty:
“I went through a period where I didn’t … embrace just being a chocolate, lovely brown-skinned girl… Embrace everything that you are as a woman, even your flaws, too.”
#8 is no stranger to this list. Halle, at 46 (and pregnant with her second child), is still fine and rocking that sexy short do like no one else can.
“It’s just an accessory that I get to wear, like a handbag or shoes.”
We’ll see an all-white version of the haircut in next summer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, where she stars once again as Storm.
Being Mary Jane star Gabrielle Union says that at 40, she’s finally “the woman I’ve always wanted to be,” and gives us her ultimate beauty secret: a gallon of water a day. She also adds:
“I stay young by dating younger… Dip into the kiddie pool ladies, it worked for me.”
People’s Most Beautiful issue hits newsstands on April 26th.
