King Bey has spoken. The singer released a new song today, “Bow Down / I Been On,” where she is snatchin’ weaves and reppin’ her Houston, Texas roots on a trapped up, screwed up beat by producer Hit-Boy.

For the first half, Bey proclaims, “I took some time to live my life, but don’t think I’m just his little wife,” and gets even more brazen in the song’s second half, “I heard yo boo was poppin’ lip, I told my crew to smack that trick, smack that trick…”

She reminisces about her young life in H-Town — baby hairs, dookie braids, “bootyin’ in the parkin’ lot,” and appearing in a video for Houston rapper Willie D when she was 14 (we’re still looking for the video).

She also shouts deceased Texas rapper Pimp C from the rap duo UGK, whose music she had to sneak to listen to as a kid.

Not yet confirmed as an official single from Beyoncé’s currently untitled fifth studio album, for which few details are known, the song — which has hit radio, has received a strong mix of reviews (really love vs hate it and her).
