Miami // Javier Velasco’s ‘SKYFALL’ Exhibit @ Buzzart | Feb. 21 – Mar. 30
Javier Velasco‘s solo exhibit, SKYFALL, will be held at Buzzart Miami, starting with a February 21st opening reception.
A combination of photography and paintings, the show serves as the Spanish multimedia artist’s personal reflection on how today’s art world challenges artists to “take a dive into the unknown.”
Based on Ron M. Brown’s book The Art of Suicide, the idea behind “Skyfall” represents the metaphoric deaths of artists “for the love of art,” who are then born again with renewed energies and ideas.
Born in Cádiz, Javier’s multidisciplinary works have been shown at numerous galleries, museums and fairs, including Spain’s ARCO, BIACS, Art Cologne, Arte Lisboa and Arteaméricas. Many pieces are also part of prestigious collections such as the MAT in Mexico, Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia in Spain, and the Consulate of Spain in Miami.
Buzzart, which is located in the heart of the city’s Wynwood Arts District, will run the exhibit through March 30th. See some of Javier’s work below.
