Justin Timberlake to Perform First Solo Concert in Years During Super Bowl Weekend
Not only has Justin Timberlake been plotting his return to music this year by releasing a series of videos, messages, and the lead single from his forthcoming album, but he’s prepping to get back into the groove as well.
According to Billboard, Mr. Timberlake is set to perform his first solo concert in several years at a New Orleans charity concert during Super Bowl weekend.
He will be the man of the hour at the DIRECTV Super Saturday Night event, being held February 2nd at DTV SuperFan stadium, which will be hosted by Mark Cuban’s AXS TV, with Questlove of The Roots serving as the house dj before and after Justin’s set.
The event will benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children and is tied in with the 7th Annual Celebrity Beach Bowl, which as the name suggests is a football game between celebrities. The lineup for the event features Chace Crawford, Snoop
Lion Dogg and Olympian Lolo Jones.
Justin Timberlake‘s “Suit & Tie“ has managed to jump from #84 to #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week, and #2 on the R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart, thanks to it’s first full week of airplay and digital sales.
In its second week on Radio Songs, “Suit” shoots from #33 to #16 (54 million, up 50%), fueled by a record-setting start on Pop Songs, where it launches at #14 with more than 6,000 opening-week plays at the format.
Sadly due to saving my coins and dollars for Mardi Gras, which celebrations will officially kick off on February 10th (but we started celebrating on January 6th), I will not be attending. But will you be attending Justin’s set?
