Rihanna collaborates once again with director Anthony Mandler ( “ Man Down “ ) on a visually stunning new video for her latest single, “ Diamonds .”
As the singer’s fastest-rising single, the mid-tempo pop ballad appears on her upcoming seventh studio album, Unapologetic , which will drop worldwide on November 19th.
The new visuals take us on wave of emotions for the song Rihanna calls “hopeful,” with scenes of her fearfully escaping a car on foot, shedding tears, surrounded by destruction, but then ultimately finding peace.
Throughout the clip, Rihanna ‘s hand is tightly gripping a man’s heavily tattooed arm, but they eventually can no longer hold onto each other.
“Diamonds” has reached #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and serves as Ri ‘s 23rd Top 10 hit.
When describing the feel of Unapologetic she told MTV , “every song is special and it means something. It’s mid-tempo but it’s mellow. It’s a stoner’s album kind of.”
