Rihanna and director Anthony Mandler team up for an emotional “Diamonds” music video

Rihanna collaborates once again with director Anthony Mandler ( Man Down ) on a visually stunning new video for her latest single, Diamonds .”

As the singer’s fastest-rising single, the mid-tempo pop ballad appears on her upcoming seventh studio album, Unapologetic , which will drop worldwide on November 19th.

The new visuals take us on wave of emotions for the song Rihanna calls “hopeful,” with scenes of her fearfully escaping a car on foot, shedding tears, surrounded by destruction, but then ultimately finding peace.

Throughout the clip, Rihanna ‘s hand is tightly gripping a man’s heavily tattooed arm, but they eventually can no longer hold onto each other.

“Diamonds” has reached #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and serves as Ri ‘s 23rd Top 10 hit.

When describing the feel of Unapologetic she told MTV , “every song is special and it means something. It’s mid-tempo but it’s mellow. It’s a stoner’s album kind of.”
