Picture Perfect: Nas & Father Pose For Gap Holiday Campaign 2012
Nas and his father, jazz musician Olu Dara, are featured in Gap’s 2012 Holiday Campaign entitled “Love Comes In Every Shade.” While there is no official date, the campaign can be expected to be released soon, and will be displayed in Gap stores worldwide.
In case you didn’t know, Nas’ father was born and raised in Natchez, Mississippi, which is literally a good 20 minute (or less) drive away from my residence in Ferriday, Louisiana. It’s a small town, but it’s quite famous.
It played a role in the promotion of blues music through the Haney’s Big House lounge in the African American community, and is the birthplace of American rock and roll and country music singer-songwriter and pianist, Jerry Lee Lewis, who may be best known as the original singer of the song “Great Balls of Fire,” which peaked at #2 on the Billbord Hot 100 chart.
Other stars appearing in Gap’s holiday campaign include Michael J. Fox, Jack Huston, Rufus Wainwright, and Francis Ford Coppola.
