Watch: The Weeknd’s Somber “Rolling Stone” Video + ‘Trilogy’ Cover Art
The Weeknd‘s “Rolling Stone” finally gets some official video treatment, directed by Abel himself.
The new video comes just three weeks after the alternative R&B singer singed with Universal Republic and announced the title and release date for his debut album, Trilogy, which drops on November 13th. Official album artwork has also been released.
“Rolling Stone” originally appeared on one of The Weeknd‘s critically-acclaimed mixtapes, Thursday, which will be re-mastered along with House of Balloons and Echoes of Silence. Three new songs will also make it onto the release.
Subdued and intimate much like the song, the black and white video for “Rolling Stone” features Abel singing straight into the camera while in the embrace of a woman, who is no longer present when the crooner sings the last “I got you…”
In a letter to fans, he explains that the strongly symbolizes his crossover from underground to mainstream.
