S.O.B.’s Afterwork Salsa Groove Party with The Bronx Mambo Orchestra, Sept. 21

A special treat is coming to this Friday’s Afterwork Salsa Groove Party at S.O.B.‘s, The Bronx Horns Mambo Orchestra!

Continuing the legacy of late greats Tito Puente and Mongo Santamaria, the 7-member group has established itself as one of the best Latin Jazz and Salsa bands on the scene today.

With the capability to perform Latin Jazz, all forms of salsa (mambo, cha cha, megengue, boogaloo, bolero, etc.) or a combination of the two styles, they serve up a dynamic performance every time they walk on stage.

Comprised of former members of the Tito Puente Orchestra, their experience and talent is rivaled by few musicians on the scene today.

The band is lead by saxaphone and flute player Mitch Frohman, who spent 25 years with the Tito Puente Orchestra. Members include trumpeter Pete Nater, Bobby Porcelli on alto sax, the great sonero Frankie Vazquez and an all star rhythm section who round out the band.

For the S.O.B.‘s event, those who check-in on Foursquare will receive a free glass of sangria. Complimentary garlic tostones will also be available throughout the night.
