The official video for Carrie Underwood’s latest single “ Blown Away “ pulls inspiration from my favorite movie (note how I didn’t say one of my favorite) of all time, The Wizard of Oz . From the gloomy black and white intro to the broken yellow bricks on the ground and Carrie ‘s blue and white plaid shirt, the video is a modern take on the 1939 classic film.
Directed by Randee St. Nicholas , Carrie plays Dorothy who is running away from more than a bad storm, but an abusive father as well. “There’s not enough rain in Oklahoma to wash the sins out of that house.”
“Blown Away” serves as the official second single from her fourth studio album of the same name.
There is really no need for me to say that I love the video. Carrie always manages to have a video that keeps viewers interested, follows the song and possesses a strong message. Enjoy the new video and tell us what you think below!
