Nas’ ‘Life Is Good’ Set to Debut at #1 On Billboard 200 Albums Chart
Nas is set to have his sixth #1 album on the Billboard 200 albums chart with Life is Good, available now on iTunes and Amazon. Released only two days ago, it is already on track to sell around 120,000 copies in its first week, which should be just enough to put him in the #1 spot. In case you don’t know, the Billboard 200 chart’s top 10 are revealed every Wednesday.
The album’s lead single “Nasty,” released on August 9, 2011, was met with positive reviews and was listed at #37 on Rolling Stone Magazine‘s 50 Best Singles of 2011, and was also named as the best hip-hop song of 2011 by Rap Genius.
The rap legend’s first album to reach #1 on the chart was his second studio album It Was Written, which was released on July 2, 1996. The album pulled an estimated 268,000 copies before being certified double platinum. 2008’s Untitled was his last album to debut at #1 with 187,078 copies in the first week of release. It went on to sell over 500,000 copies and has been certified Gold.
