British Afro-Punk Songstress Ebony Bones for Ghubar Magazine
British singer/songwriter Ebony Bones is featured in Ghubar Magazine‘s March 2012 issue.
For her fun, playful African-inspired shoot—she was styled in Jean-Charles de Castelbajac and photographed by Sarah Diouf, Ghubar‘s founder and editor-in-chief.
Covered by former Miss France Sonia Rolland, the international online fashion and culture magazine also features hip-hop newcomers A$AP Rocky and Iggy Azalea.
Best known for her single “W.A.R.R.I.O.R,” onstage antics and outrageous wardrobe, Ebony was listed as one of Time Out‘s “40 Men And Women Who Make London” in 2008.
With a musical styling similar to M.I.A. and Santigold, the actress-turned-singer released her self-produced 2009 debut album Bone Of My Bones.
“W.A.R.R.I.O.R” and “Guess We’ll Always Have NY” have been used in tv promos for Yves Saint Laurent, the EA Sports FIFA 2011 soundtrack, and a couple of controversial Citroën DS3 commercials featuring the late John Lennon and Marilyn Monroe—which were later banned in parts of Europe.
