Is Nicki Minaj’s “Stupid Hoe” Video Too Explicit for BET?
According to TMZ, who I would love to work for some day, Nicki Minaj‘s “Stupid Hoe” video has been banned from BET. There is no specific reason to why the video is banned, but other sources say that it’s because the video is too explicit for TV.
The video premiered on Vevo/Youtube on January 20th, and has so far recieved over 20 million views. The Hype Williams directed visual has recieved a lot of mixed views however, with 298,431 dislikes and 141, 054 likes.
Due to the disappointing performances of both “Roman in Moscow” and “Stupid Hoe,” it can be expected that both tracks will receive the “Massive Attack” treatment by not appearing at all on her 2nd studio album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.
Nicki isn’t the first artist to be banned from the network. Ciara’s “Ride” video was banned for being too sexy (it remained on MTV and VH1 so yay!), and Game’s “Red Nation” was banned for gang affiliation.
