Disaster: Nicki Minaj’s “Stupid Hoe” Music Video [NSFW]

Viewers have spoken and not exactly in favor of Nicki Minaj‘s new video for “Stupid Hoe,” directed by Hype Williams.

The song’s title was enough to make me choose to ignore the video premiere by Young Money‘s sole female rapper on Friday afternoon and I partially wish I would have continued my rebellion.

However, I eventually gave in and watched/listened in horror. On mute, the video is typical Minaj colorful, creepy Black Barbie visuals with exotic animals and ass-poppin’.

She even channels her inner Shakira from “She Wolf” but the “twerk” style track, which clearly aims at rap rival Lil’ Kim, might be her most obnoxious yet — hard to accomplish, I know.

The song is almost too annoying to notice a pretty valid point made by Minaj: had Jigsaw face Kim played nice, she may actually have a career right now.

Nicki Minaj "Stupid Hoe" Youtube Ratings

Nicki Minaj “Stupid Hoe” Youtube Ratings as of 1/21/2012

On Youtube/Vevo — as of early Saturday morning, out of the 191,564 people that have watched, there are 23,582 people that also felt my pain versus the 20,646 people that enjoyed the video.

As far as popular music videos go, this is first time I’ve ever seen Dislike ratings come anywhere close to Like ratings, much less overpowering them. To some, the surprising ratings mean that over 50% of voters are just “haters” (formerly known as anyone that voices an opinion).

However, it appears that even some of Nicki‘s fans are not sure what the hell they just experienced after watching “Stupid Hoe.”

One fan says, “this is the first song i really hated because 1) the beat was bad and 2) it didnt make sense, AT ALL! smh. im very disappointed in Nicki…” With that said, plenty of “stupid hoes” have uploaded their “twerk dancin'” videos to the song, increasing the shamefulness.

Disappointment

Up until recently, I’ve rather enjoyed her antics: the odd wardrobe, the multiple personalities; the clever marketing — all with hopes to eventually see a growing artist.

Unfortunately, the playful diss track is caught up in a feud that is slowing down in momentum and increasing in apathy.

“Stupid Hoe” sounds as if it should have been one of those unreleased songs you find randomly and sigh in relief that it didn’t make the album. It is the second shitty new single from Minaj, following the leak of “Roman’s Revenge in Moscow” which is deeply lacking when compared to the original.

Regardless, “Stupid Hoe” will appear on Nicki‘s sophomore album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded — due in April. Watch the video below.
