BLANK Magazine’s Fierce Cassie Spread + Zuzuka Poderosa Feature
We’ve fallen in lust with Panama’s trendsetting BLANK Magazine which provides a globalized view of fashion, design, music and architecture.
For their August 2011 issue #63, BLANK enlisted the beauty of Calvin Klein and Carol’s Daughter spokeswoman Cassie for both the cover and a stunning spread shot by Steven Gomillion and Dennis Leupold. Cassie was draped in Zara, Givenchy, Tribal Band and more.
Personally, I’d rather see Cassie’s gorgeous face than hear her sing ever again, but she does have a new album underway which will mix a little pop, some hip-hop, and even some ska. Enjoy photos and video from the shoot below.

Zuzuka Poderosa’s BLANK Magazine Feature
Our favorite Brazilian Funk diva Zuzuka Poderosa is featured in the issue’s hello, my name is… section.
Zuzuka tells BLANK how she got her name, info about her Zuzuka Power Tour and being an independent artist in New York City. We’re super excited for her new video with Systema D-128 from Mad Decent! In the issue, Zuzuka also dishes about the best place in NYC to enjoy Brazilian music, food and more:
Ok, here it is: Dance:Nublu on Wednesday nights –trust me. (Forro in The Dark & Greg Caz) Food:Beco in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Just thinking about it gives me a craving. The collard greens is delicious, the filet mignon sandwich (Bauru) –wow! Drink: I also heard there is a new cachaçaria in Manhattan which I’m dying to go, but haven’t found the time yet. Music:Tropicalia in Furs record store in the East Village. If you are a record digger you can get some rare Brazilian and other rare vinyl.”
